Description |
The "Start of Sarajevo" project is intended to assist in the
restoration of social and cultural activities for children and young
people in Sarajevo by channelling aid and support to key local groups.
Sarajevo has a long and proud history as a centre of culture, and it is this
tradition which, as much as the people of the city, has been threatened
by the three-year siege. |
Remarks |
The Sarajevo team worked closely with the
Bubamara Children's Football Club; the independent
children's group Fenix Arts; Kuk Club (a unique centre for
young people run by Sarajevo medical students as both a venue
and social centre, and as a music therapy facility); and the
Trust Foundation of Sarajevo Artists, plus a festival
- "Tamna Strana Disneylanda" (The Darker Side of Disneyland) -
held in November 1995. |
